Watch J. Cole’s New Documentary

It’s not everyday that J. Cole stans receive a behind-the-scenes look of the G.O.A.T. at work.

After teasing a brief clip over the weekend, the Dreamville founder releases his new documentary on Monday (May 10) ahead of his new album The Off-Season. In the short doc, Cole dissects the various layers behind his upcoming album from the title to his creative process.

The documentary kicks off with Cole elaborating on the title of the album to 21 Savage in the studio. Throughout the short film, we can see unreleased footage of the rapper making the album from as far back as 2016. We can even witness Cole going back to the Mohammad House, the building where he lived in New York City during his time at St. John’s University, for inspiration while he was working on the LP.

Applying Pressure: The Off-Season Documentary comes just days before Cole is expected to deliver his new body of work. Since topping Apple Music’s charts with his “i n t e r l u d e” last Friday (May 7), the North Carolina native is expected to dominate the rest of the charts with his follow-up to KOD, which dropped back in 2018.
