It’s been a week since we lost DMX, and life hasn’t been the same. The Yonkers native made an impact on at least two generations of artists prior to his death last week. In the midst of his family and fans mourning his loss, we learned that the late Ruff Ryders rapper completed his final album shortly before his passing. Before receiving the forthcoming project, we get to hear DMX’s first posthumous release alongside Swizz Beatz and French Montana.
“Been to War” comes fresh off the soundtrack for the upcoming season 2 of EPIX’s crime drama series Godfather of Harlem. Swizz himself curated the vibes for this season’s soundtrack after contributing his previous track for season one, “Just in Case” featuring DMX and Rick Ross. The latest record from deceased MC isn’t the only highly anticipated banger dropping tonight.
Busta Rhymes drops the 25th Anniversary edition of his debut studio album The Coming, which includes eight bonus versions of the hit classic “Woo Hah!!,” many of which have never been released until now. The album also features a new “World Wide” remix that contains an unreleased verse from the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. We’ve also got Conway The Machine’s long-awaited album La Maquina and Young Thug’s second installment of Slime Language 2 as well as new music from Talib Kweli, Diamond D, ILoveMakonnen, Tee Grizzley, Tafia and more.
